Send us that dusty old recorder under your couch and we’ll give it to a school that wants to make some noise for primary teachers
We’re not here to make music teachers look bad. In fact, we’re trying to prove just how much power music teachers have. And that what some governments might see as a ‘soft’ skill, actually has more power to shift a nation than almost any other discipline.

FAQs
Shouldn’t you just keep striking?
We may still do that too. But honestly, we’ll do anything to make education a top priority in New Zealand.
What can I do?
The best thing you can do is help make this stop, by showing the government just how many people care about the education of our tamariki, and the teachers and staff in schools who support them.
What do teachers want again?
Fair pay. A teacher aide in every classroom. Uphold Te Tiriti o Waitangi in education.
Didn’t teachers settle last year?
That was the PPTA - the secondary school union - we are yet to reach an agreement.
Did this cost a lot of money?
Nope. It was all made for free. Over 60 ad creatives, film producers, actors, musicians, photographers, designers, web developers, and media people have donated their time, resources, and media space to help our cause. Gratis.
What do you have against music teachers?
We love music teachers and want to remind everyone just how much power they hold. In fact, the creative behind this work used to be one.
I’m tone deaf. Can I still help?
Absolutely. The more people get behind our cause, the better our chances of a successful outcome.
Can Erica Stanford play recorder?
Probably. She is actually an excellent bassoon player. Check it out.
